Writing Experiences & Goals

I have to admit that coming into High School with my writing skills from intermediate was like nothing. My English class during freshman year was completely new to me with learning the 6 traits. Being in Mrs. Sueoka's English class was a very rewarding experience for me. I came in with very little knowledge and basic writing skills such as writing and introduction, the main body and wrapping it up with a conclusion. Applying the 6 traits to my writing has helped me to improve my writing skills. I have moved onto being a Sophomore with much more knowledge and writing skills than when I first enrolled in the MeneMac program.

My writing goals are to practice more in applying the 6 traits to my writing and graduate with the ability to make extravagant essays that will leave a lasting impression on the reader. I want to boost up my vocabulary so that I will be able to think of words to construct my sentences in a way that is appealing to the reader's mind and eyes.

  1. Hi Daryenne,

Glad to hear that the 6 traits process has helped you in your writing. Good goal of applying them further (though I'm not quite sure what an "extravagent essay" is ;)

As far as your pro/con pre-assessment, here are my comments: Although you mentioned in your evaluation that you’re confused about this “pro and con thing” you stated your ideas pretty clearly in your essay. You have both sides of the argument—the risk of cheating and the benefits of technology. What would be needed to develop the argument further would be more examples and a wider range of ideas about technology in education.
